Bardfield Vineyard is part of the historic Great Lodge Estate in Great Bardfield, Essex, a family-run rural property with vineyards and walled gardens. The vineyard produces a range of still and sparkling English wines from grapes grown on the estate.

The cellar door is open Monday to Tuesday from 11am to 5pm. Guided vineyard tours last around two and a half hours and include a wine tasting and ploughman's lunch served in the barn, from £40 per person. Booking is essential — visit the website for upcoming dates.

Bardfield Vineyard grows Bacchus, Pinot Noir, Seyval Blanc and Pinot Meunier on sandy clay soils in the dry, sunny East Anglian climate — conditions that suit both still and sparkling styles. In April 2020 the vineyard was awarded organic status by the Soil Association, a commitment that runs through the way the vines are farmed and the wines are made. The wines have been recognised at competition level, picking up Silver at the East Anglian Vineyards Association Wine of the Year.
